Well its looks like a tale becoming fact, as kids our father used to tell us that our forefathers were part of Shivaji Army and had settled down in Punjab. This article and research fortifies his story as a fact of history and justifies my pang for Dal Chawal.
ReplyDeleteWe are karkara's from Delhi , while our father-grandfather was from Nabha Punjab and our last trace is from Rampur Phool in Bhatinda punjab. All the Karkara's in the world can be traced but how Karkare or Karkaria became Karkara is not known, neither where our roots are in Maharashtra.
We karkara's have a guru temple in Punjab where as per elder direction all karkara's needed to meet after deepawali for guru blessing, i would like to search further into the background of same.
I would like invite all Karkara's,Karkare and Karkaria to link up to the site and read this article and at the same time request the author to assist us to find our roots in Maharashtra.
PLEASE ADD KARKARA in the list also
Iam also marathi. My surname is kale.My native is krishnagiri, Tamilnadu. Lot of my relations with the surname kale live here. Please add kale also in the list.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Kiran rao kale
